Just in time for #EarthDay, a new study says - Shoppers on Recycling: ‘Not My Problem’

Just in time for Earth Day comes a dose of sobering reality: a new study reveals most shoppers say “not my problem” when it comes to package recycling. According to the study, 35 percent of people think government should mandate stricter environmental standards for packaging. Photo: Amanda Wills, Earth911 Among 1,000 households surveyed, 62 percent shirk personal responsibility for recycling packaging, and instead believe the onus is on businesses and government to take the lead. In the Midwest, fully 70 percent are unwilling to make the effort.
