As the 41st Earth Day draws near (on April 22), now is a good time to take stock of how we and the planet are doing. But let's not take humans' word for it. There are enough global warming activist videos out there to create a weeks-long festival, but here are two short ones that put the white bears front and center. Produced for Friends of the Earth , in this animation two polar bears (and who knew polar bears had Australian accents?) muse about the global warming they see around them: The bears consider various possible causes for climate change, as their ice floe cracks beneath them. Finally one bear posits that it must be "the humans". This theory is dismissed: "The humans? No, they'd never allow that to happen." We won't, will we?
