For the fourth year in a row Eye Care for Animals and the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists are giving back to service dogs during the month of May with the National Service Dog Eye Exam Event. The program is offered to preserve the sight of the service dogs that assist the public. When these skilled canines lose their eyesight or develop other health issues, the result can be devastating for the person or organization they help. During the entire month of May, Eye Care for Animals clinics throughout the U.S is offering a free eye screening exam to ensure that the eyes of service dogs are healthy and strong. Service dogs that are actively working and have been certified by a formal training program or are currently enrolled in a program are eligible. These include: Guide dogs Hearing dogs Handicapped assistance dogs Detection dogs Police dogs Search and Rescu...
