Google antes up $100 million (more) for advanced wind farm

Bill, I agree with you but the reality is that there is not a friendly industry structure that allows investors to build renewables and get them dispatched in an efficient manner. Just ask yourself if you could invest in any renewable project other than rooftop solar on your own house, and the answer is no, you have no way to invest. Even if you were T Boone and had the money to invest, you would still fail, as he did with his 1000 MW of wind generators he bought and could find no where to connect them to at the time. Currently new lines are being built in the Texas Panhandle, but it takes nearly a decade from the time new lines are first studied until they are actually on the ground. Can you image how difficult it is to design a national grid for wind power. It will cost a lot of money. Who is going to design the system and who will pay for it? These are very difficult sy...
