Pittsburghers Make Their Voices Heard on EPA's Proposed Rule to Stop Deadly Air Pollution PITTSBURGH, Jun 13, 2012 -- BUSINESS WIRE On the heels of southwestern Pennsylvania's first set of air quality action days -- when unhealthy air was dangerous for many people because of deadly soot, smog, and heat-trapping gasses --public health experts, medical experts, parents and concerned community members testified today at a Citizens' Hearing in Pittsburgh in support of a new U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rule that would cut carbon pollution from power plants for the first time. So far, Pennsylvanians have submitted over 91,538 comments out of more than 1.48 million comments nationwide, demonstrating the broad public support for this new public health safeguard.
