I recently had a conversation with a group of highly intelligent women about the state of health care in the United States. These women were new acquaintances and throughout the conversation I felt as if I presented myself as the confident person I would like to be. It was a wonderful feeling. Later that day, I realized that I wasn’t presenting myself per se. I was simply being my authentic self. This was a surprising realization for me, as someone who at times has introverted tendencies. Allowing myself to own my ideas is something I’ve been working at quite a bit lately, and the fact that I was able to do just that without even trying was a new and fantastic experience.
