We’re getting fatter and fatter every year in the U.S. while at the same time becoming more and more detached from our food system . Over the past century we’ve moved away from local agriculture and toward a system of corporate production that hurts farmers and produces unnaturally plump consumers. The connection between farmers, consumers, food industry lobbyists, and the government itself can be murky. In four minutes you’ll learn about the biggest losers and winners in the current American food system and I’ll give you a hint, it’s not consumers.
