On Thursday evening I attended a preview event in Manhattan for the New York Wild Film Festival . The festival is the brainchild of Nancy Rosenthal, a former producer for National Geographic who says she hopes to use it to promote awareness of environmental issues. The notion is to showcase films on themes like discovering and exploring our dwindling and precious natural spaces, perhaps even motivating audiences to take action to protect them. Ms. Rosenthal, who was on hand in a leopard print wrap dress, curated the selection for this year’s festival, which has been expanded to four days. After grabbing a jungle-green libation known as a Wildtini, I settled in with the rest of the downtown crowd for the screening.
