Rand Paul: preventing black lung too "burdensome" to energy companies. Wonder if there's a mine we can drop him in? #p2

With all the deaths in mining accidents in the last year or so, how dare this moron say we need LESS regulation! My father was a charter member of the United Mine Workers, lost half a lung to silicosis (related to black lung) and spent the latter half of his life fighting to breathe. I know what a miner's life was like before unions and safety regulations. Standing outside the gates at the mine in the predawn hours, winter or summer, waiting for a man with a clipboard to come out and pick a crew from the crowd of miners dressed and ready to work. Hoping you were one of the ones who would be able to put food on the table. Working long backbreaking hours in the most dangerous of environments with no safety gear, knowing that the work would kill you, sooner or later, but desperate to feed your family.
