U.S. Waters Polluted by 10 Million Tons of Dog Poop

Seems to me that there should be as many animals defecating as there ever were. Human populations have increased but are mostly controlled, but there is more consumption of oil and we don't police the oil companies for their damage and they have ruined more land, water, and people with their disasters. Pet owners are at least trying and those who don't should be held accountable and it can be done, but oil companies pay out pittance and still spend more money litigating to not have to. If they put that money into clean-ups along with the money they spend to attempt company image clean-up, efforts could be increased. The Gulf still is and will continue to poison. Until we go after the oil companies for their spills and fracking damage and quit turning our heads to what they do, then leave the pet owners alone.
