Met Office hails £60m fund to boost UK climate change research, @businessgreen reports #environmentnetwork

The Met Office's Hadley centre has secured £60m government funding for a raft of new super computers and a three-year research programme to help businesses adapt to the risks and opportunites posed by climate change . The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) yesterday confirmed that nearly £50m will be made available to the Hadley Centre for a programme of research and modelling, underpinned by £11m of new supercomputing capacity.
