Communities urged to 'crowd fund' green energy schemes

Community groups hoping to install renewable energy technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines are being offered the chance to win £5,000 from a series of social networking sites backed by TV celebrity chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingtsall. Renewable energy networking site EnergyShare yesterday launched a £25,000 fund, which it intends to give to the first five renewable energy projects that raise £5,000 via the crowd funding website peoplefund.it .
