FBI Joins Investigation of Possible Hate Crimes in Tulsa | Care2 Causes

Early Friday morning in north Tulsa, five people were shot within 2 to 3 miles of each other in four different locations. Three have died and two are critically wounded. Tulsa police captain Jonathan Brooks told CNN that, while investigators are looking for one suspect, a white man in a white pickup truck, they have not ruled out the possibility of others being involved. Brooks also says that police are investigating the shootings as a possible hate crime : All of the victims are African-American. Most of the shootings happened while the victims were walking in residential neighborhoods with mostly single-family dwellings; one shooting occurred near a funeral home in a commercial district. According to ABC News , the F.B.I. and U.S. Marshals are joining in the investigation. Mayor Dewey Bartlett said that the shootings are “unprecedented in our recent history” and that the...
