However in my quest for my first eco-friendly spring/summer bag and tote, I must confess I have been given recent cause to keep an open my mind. Our own venerable Magnifeco Kate got me started with her declaration that her site would never be exclusively vegan for the sheer reason that if it came down to a choice between the life of an animal or the life of human being or a village, say; she would choose the people (you can read the post here ). Don’t forget there are artisans in the world who are treating animals respectfully and using their hides to make beautiful pieces of functional art, if you will.
