Government hints at budget hike ahead of face-saving feed-in tariff plans

The government will today unveil a package of measures designed to secure the future of the popular feed-in tariff incentive scheme, after Climate Minister Greg Barker told industry representatives that the scheme's budget would be increased. However, renewable industry insiders remain deeply concerned that the announcement will be accompanied by proposals for further deep cuts to feed-in tariff incentives for solar and other forms of small scale renewable energy.
