Saturday January 7, 2012, 2:59 am If the animal lobbysists are backing the shelter worker, why don't they consider taking out insurance for 'malpractise' as doctors do? If medical doctors refused to treat human patients on the same grounds that these folks are putting forward, there would be no-one left in the medical profession; they all have insurance against malpractise suits. Those pet owners who can afford to insurance their pets' medical fees should also consider this option. Shelters should begin to looking at having subsidised veterinary clinics attached for the lower income bracket. The example of the new shelter opening shortly in SC should be studied.
