You seem to not understand the 'big picture.' Note figure 1 - labeled - Change in Earth's total heat content. The ocean heat content will likely decline temporarily if we have another large El Nino or sequence of El Nino. La Nina is when the ocean actually gains heat, and since we have been in a largely La Nina dominated period since 2005-2006, it's little wonder global surface temperatures have not changed much. If we see a change to an El Nino-dominant period, we're going to get warming of global surface temperatures quick smart.
