Bit of an exclusive: Govt to announce more sweeteners for Green Deal and confirm RHI to launch next week

The government is today expected to confirm the launch date for its high profile Renewable Heat Incentive scheme and announce a new package of "sweeteners" designed to drive adoption of its flagship Green Deal scheme. BusinessGreen understands chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander will announce up to £200m of funding will be made available to encourage businesses and households to take part in the new scheme, which is scheduled to launch next autumn and will see firms undertake energy efficiency improvements to homes and offices at no upfront costs.
