U.S. Formalizes Fuel Economy Standard

Formalizing an agreement on a standard that combines limits on emissions of greenhouse gases with stiffer fuel economy requirements, the Obama administration has released a notice of a rule requiring a 54.5-mile-per-gallon standard by 2025 for passenger vehicles.
