Tempers rise over oil palm in Sierra Leone

Saturday November 12, 2011, 12:02 am Another case of a third-world country being taken advantage of by greedy corporations from industrialized countries. It seems that there should be some type of oversight. Slick corporate representatives offer pennies to isolated tribal leaders who are aware of little more than what goes on in their own tribes and make them feel as though they're being offered a king's ransom. These tribal leaders need guidance because they're not only hurting themselves and their tribespeople when they sign away their land, they're hurting the environment and wildlife as well. send green star | flag as inappropriate Why is this inappropriate?
