Nice salaries to be sure, and even nicer to get regular mid year bonuses, but where were the VCs in all this. With a cool $1B in OPM, I would imagine the investors had people on the board, and should have approved, or at least been aware of, these bonuses prior to the bankuptcy. Certainly, the investors wanted their money back just as much as taxpayers do. Either there was massive collusion involving people who stood to lose a great sum of money, or the bankruptcy came as a surprise to almost all involved, or these payroll numbers - while revealing personal information - are not significant in regards to the bankruptcy. I’m pretty cynical when it comes to corruption and self dealing at the top of American corporations, if this really is a case of managers cynically paying themselves well while knowingly driving the ship down a well, then this is up there in the great panth...
