Could tariff cuts mean the end for solar schemes in social housing? #FiTs

Todays press shows 600 Nottingham Council houses having had free solar panels fitted with another 900 council homes in the pipeline, each at a cost of £7000. This will save the Council Tenants up to £100 per year in electrity savings. Interestingly many houses did not have the panels fitted, I assume that these were the privately owned houses who's hard working, mortgage laden owners were not included in the scheme. This is just another example of loony left wing policies, people receiving benefits getting yet another slice of the giveaway cake. I doubt Nottingham Council have £10.5 million sitting around to fund this project and I doubt there ability to raise this sum on the open market. I guess that the Council have partnered a large private company who will now be claiming from the FIT fund a sum in excess of £1 million pound a year index linked for 25 years. If you nee...
