Report: oil and gas skills to cut offshore wind costs by a fifth

Expertise acquired in the oil and gas sector could help cut the cost of offshore wind energy by as much as 20 per cent, according to a new report to be published tomorrow. Analysis by Scottish Enterprise, in partnership with consultancy Douglas Westwood, will reveal the extent to which firms supplying the oil and gas industry could support offshore wind developers in a wide range of technical and engineering areas.
