Labour to challenge coal power capacity payments

Labour will oppose government plans to allow coal power stations to bid for multi-million pound subsidies that would extend their lives well into the 2020s. Shadow Energy and Climate Minister Baroness Worthington told BusinessGreen the proposals are "a concern" and that Labour would challenge them in tomorrow's House of Lords debate on the electricity market reform delivery plan that was announced last week .
