Environment Secretary Caroline Spelman is to face a judicial review after a group of activist lawyers accused the government of drafting air quality plans that fail to protect people from toxic pollution. Earlier this year, green group ClientEarth launched a judicial review against the secretary of state for allegedly failing sufficiently to reduce nitrogen pollution levels, or consult the public on separate plans to cut levels of PM10 airborne particles.
