Google Breaks Silence on Energy Use By THE NEW YORK TIMES Google has disclosed that it continuously uses enough electricity to power 200,000 homes, James Glanz reports . Still, the company asserts that it makes the world a greener place because it enables people to search the Internet rather than, say, drive to a library and generate emissions.
