Solar electricity to undercut coal in parts of Europe by 2013, reports @businessgreen #environmentnetwork

Electricity generated by solar panels could cost the same as conventionally produced power by as early as 2013 in some European countries. That is the conclusion of a study published today by the European Photovoltaic Industry Association (EPIA), which analysed markets in France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, concluding that full cost parity between solar power and the cheapest form of fossil fuel will be delivered by 2020 with some regions reaching the milestone far sooner.
