Last week, a bill restricting the material in restaurants and other businesses passed by a 9-5 vote in the state Assembly Appropriations Committee and now heads to the Assembly floor for a full vote. Originally introduced by state Senator Alan Lowenthal (D-Long Beach), the state Senate approved the legislation in June.
