#climate change is costing us - especially if we do nothing.

Political discourse today is centered on our nation’s budget priorities. A year ago, the debt ceiling was a procedural matter, not a political battlefield. A year ago, I had never heard the phrase “entitlement program;” now it’s a political lighting rod. With Capitol Hill abuzz over the debt crisis, I have begun to pay more attention to the decisions our lawmakers make with our money. After all, our budget says a lot about our priorities as a country. This is especially true when money is tight. I wonder, what are our lawmakers’ priorities and what guides those priorities? At times, watching Congress battle on CSPAN is like watching a “Keeping up with the Kardashians” marathon. It is theater of the political variety, like a mindless reality show that you can’t stop watching.
