Food Stamp Use Rises As Employers Refuse To Pay Living Wages | Care2 Causes

As always, follow the money. As a property manager I see the problems with low wages and renters having to use food stamps. Yes some people are lazy, and yes some people spend all their money on drugs, but the percentage is relatively small. The argument that I have heard that people should be out digging ditches instead of being on food stamps does not hold up. I'm positive everyone can figure out why. Who profits from low wages? With all the tax cuts on the federal level and in Arizona on sthe state level, very few jobs have been created. As a matter of a fact, because of the revenue problems, a huge percentage of out unemployed are former government workers, some of them are now in low wage jobs that won't pay the bills. Here comes the shame of welfare and foodstamps. Very few people brag about being on the 'dole'. Any one of us who does well, practice some gratitude.
