Nobody Cares About What Climate Change is Doing to People in Africa

Newsflash: Nobody cares about the problems climate change is causing in lands far away to people that look different. That's an immensely crass way of parsing the findings of a new report detailed over at the Big Think that explains that climate campaigns focusing on the devastating impact of global warming in, say, Africa, will spur little solidarity with most folks here in the US. Why? It has to do with a psychological phenomenon called motivated reasoning wherein we use new information to support pre-existing biases and prejudices.
