Clothing firms Joe Fresh and Primark to compensate victims of Bangladesh building collapse

Loblaw, the owner of Joe Fresh, and Primark of the UK, the only two major companies to admit to manufacturing clothing in the building, are going to compensate the families of the victims. According to the Globe and Mail, “We will be providing compensation for the families of the victims who worked for our supplier,” said Loblaw spokeswoman Julija Hunter. “We are working to ensure that we will deliver support in the best and most meaningful way possible, and with the goal of ensuring that victims and their families receive benefits now and in the the future.” Primark in the UK, also owned by the Weston Family that owns Loblaw, issued their own statement: “Primark will also pay compensat...
