The organisation responsible for administering many of the UK's green projects will today reveal it has reduced its own carbon emissions by a fifth and saved taxpayers around £6m a year. The Environment Agency is to publish figures showing how it has improved its own environmental performance in five key areas since 2006. The Defra-backed body will reveal it has reduced carbon emissions by 17 per cent against 2006/7 levels, putting it on track to cut emissions 33 per cent by 2015.
