As reported in a recent Yale Forum feature by Michael Coren, various private and public sector interests are moving ahead with climate adaptation plans and strategies. Adjusting activities in concert with expectations of a changing climate is moving mainstream even as mandatory climate mitigation strategies barely inch forward. The view from space offers a clarity about our changing planet less visible from the ground: spring thaw coming sooner year after year, the iconic snows of Kilimanjaro and glaciers across the globe dwindling — and a great green wall of vegetation spreading across the region just south of Africa’s Sahara Desert. From the sands of the Sahel to financial trading floors, individuals, businesses, nonprofits and governments are sizing up climate change — and adjusting their activities accordingly.
