Report: EU wind energy market to triple in size this decade

The UK will be the fourth largest wind energy market in the EU by 2020, according to a new industry report that predicts the bloc will triple its wind power output over the next decade. The European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) this week published its annual state of the industry report , which includes a forecast for deployment through to 2020. The EWEA forecasts that by 2020, a further 146GW of wind energy capacity will be installed, taking the European total to 230GW. Of this installed total 190GW is expected to be onshore with a further 40GW offshore. Electricity production from wind power is expected to increase...
