Fracking Contaminated a Well, Documents Indicate By THE NEW YORK TIMES Ian Urbina writes about a documented case of a well’s contamination as a result of hydraulic fracturing in Jackson County, W.Va., in the 1980’s. The Environmental Protection Agency has been prevented from investigating some other suspected cases because details were sealed when energy companies settled lawsuits with landowners, he adds.
