Have your kids ever asked why the ocean is salty? This quiz is a fun way for them to learn
Thousands of years ago when the Earth was formed, gases from inside the Earth contained salt, and they were released, ending up in the ocean. Rainwater also adds to the salt; rain falls on land, and the salt that is naturally in rocks and soil gets into the water and eventually makes its way to the ocean. And, there are some places in the ocean where salty gases and minerals from deep inside the Earth are released.
