Reward Offered for Horse Shooting in Vermont | Care2 Causes

The Vermont State Police are investigating the death of a 31-year old Arabian horse named Kagan who was shot in his pasture in Montpelier, VT on July 5. Kagan’s owner, Beverly Lavin, was informed about the shooting by her brother, Wayne Mailhotte, who lives on the farm and who also reported the incident to the police. Unfortunately, what Mailhotte thought was the sound of someone setting off fireworks around 10 p.m. that night was actually gunfire, according to WCAX-TV . Kagan was found the following morning lying in the field that he had lived in for 29 years. “There was a hole further down and that turned out to be the entrance hole from a bullet and the gash on the front was the exit.
