Can 'super-bees' solve the world's food crisis?

Although I can see the validity of this research, I only see it as a short term, limited bandage on the bee crisis. There are approximately 20,000 known species of bees, on every continent except Antarctica. The yearly economic value of bees is over 200 billion dollars. " Much of the decline, (of bee colonies) ranging up to 85 percent in some areas, is taking place in the industrialized northern hemisphere due to more than a dozen factors, according to a report by the UN's environmental agency.
