Trump must bump up federal emissions standards to win EV race with China, warns California's governor

Stricter federal limits on vehicle emissions are crucial if the US is to save its auto industry from being out-competed by China, according to California's governor Jerry Brown. In an interview with BBC Radio 4's Costing the Earth , Brown said more investment in electric vehicles and tighter nationwide emissions standard are essential for America to retain a powerful auto sector.
