The toy battle begins: Danish toymaker Lego steps up against #deforestation after Barbie's Greenpeace fiasco

Lego has been hailed as an environmental leader of the toy-making industry, after announcing a series of packaging pledges including banishing suppliers involved in deforestation. The company announced a three-step plan yesterday to reduce the impact of its packaging on forests, consisting of proposals to reduce total packaging, a commitment to use only recycled fibre when possible, and a pledge to ensure that pulp-based packaging is produced in a sustainable manner, when it is not possible to use recycled fibres.
