Unfortunately, sweatshop violations happen in the U.S. garment industry, too

over its failure to cooperate with an investigation into possible wage violations by its contractors. The department’s Wage and Hour Division said Thursday that the Los Angeles-based retailer has not provided documents concerning the labor practices of its suppliers and manufacturers despite the subpoena it received on August 16. As a result, the department has filed legal action with the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California
