Sneak a peek at the gargantuan green wall coming to Tadao Ando’s 152 Elizabeth Street https://t.co/j6PJwm2Qg9

At 55 feet high and 99 feet wide, Ando’s living wall at 152 Elizabeth Street will indeed be the largest of its kind in the city. The verdant vertical garden, which will cover the entire southern face of the building, was designed in collaboration with renowned landscaping firm M. Paul Friedberg and Partners . This living wall does what most do, changing over time as the seasons change. The selection of plant varieties was made especially with that aspect in mind, and the wall will feature seasonal vines chosen for a mix of textures and colors, including English Ivy, Boston Ivy, Virginia Creepers, Jasmine Clematis, and climbing Hydrangeas. The combination will produce a green wall that is aesthetically pleasing just about any time of the year.
