A warm vegan coat isn't an oxymoron, thanks to Vaute Couture
Growing up in Chicago, where she battled many a bitter winter, Leanne Mai-ly Hilgart knows cold. As the mastermind behind the first high-performance vegan dress coat, she also knows that you don't have to cocoon yourself in animal pelts to keep frostbite at bay. Now in its third year, Hilgart's Vaute Couture label has honed cruelty-free luxury to an art. Its Fall/Winter 2012 outwear collection combines classic silhouettes with weather-resistant technical fabrics derived from recycled and recyclable fibers.
