49 New York schools adopt fun vegetarian program to teach kids about food choices

, an international animal protection organization based in California, announced today that 49 schools in six school districts in New York have joined the campaign for plant-based nutrition education. The Daily Scoop is comprised of consistent, easy-to-understand nutrition tips with a focus on fruits, vegetables, and plant-based protein meals. School children are exposed to the tips at various times of the day, such as during morning announcements and in lessons taught by teachers. Rather than focusing solely on the science behind healthy eating, the program incorporates cultural, social, and environmental elements in a fun way, making the information more readily accessible to kids.
