Build Your Own Working Space Suit With Parts From eBay, Hardware Store

Most of the major parts, like the diver’s dry suit, a gauge that measures internal air pressure, and an aquarium pump to circulate cooling fluid, were bought off the internet. He found the authentic 1980′s Soviet high-altitude helmet off eBay. Then he went to his local Ace Hardware to pick up the other items – nylon straps, wire, and a number of PVC fittings and valves. The suit is all ready to go and he just needs to test it out in a hypobaric chamber. From there, assuming all goes well and he doesn’t explode, he’ll make another suit from sturdier parts and then work on the rest of the plan.
