National Trust seeks the nation’s favourite walk

A nationwide search launched by the National Trust is on to discover the nation’s ten greatest walks. To help with this two-month quest, people around the UK are being encouraged to upload a description of their favourite walk to the Great British Walk website and explain what makes it so special. A panel of experts including; BBC Countryfile presenter Julia Bradbury, editor of Country Walking magazine Vincent Crump and National Trust walking champion Chloe Bradbrooke from Nymans in Surrey will pick the top 10 walks. The competition marks the beginning of the Trust’s Great British Walk celebration which will run until Sunday 4 November, with thousands of events at some of the country’s best walking hotspots.
