shelving unit can expand and shrink like an accordion into a variety of sizes in order to fit the configuration that best suits your needs. Japanese design firm Nendo has developed a smart, ultra lightweight system that can expand so you don't have to buy a brand new bookshelf every time your book collection outgrows your current shelving capacity. Called Nest, the design references the Russian matryoshka nesting doll which hides smaller dolls inside itself.
