Way to go! Marks & Spencer Creates “World’s Most Sustainable Suit” via @Ecouterre

Wool is not eco friendly! I feel like a broken record. Whether or not the wool is organic, the toll that livestock, which includes sheep (who make up 25% of all land mammals – with 1 for every 6 people globally) take on resource consumption, land and water systems, and GHGs, using a living animal that requires land, water, and food as a textile resource is simply not efficient. In fact, Sheep are one of Australia and New Zealand’s greatest source of GHG emissions. We’ve got to stop relying on livestock for food and textiles. The eco-fashion community must reject livestock-based textiles.
