Exotic Solar's "PowerCloth" Turns Clothing Into Energy-Generating Powerhouses

A new ultra light-weight, flexible and washable solar cell is helping advance solar fashion and wearable technology. The PowerCloth 1G made by Utah-based Exotic Solar can be integrated into any fabric can be integrated into almost anything to turn it into a 5 Volt charging port. The company has steered clear of silicon based cells, which can be brittle, in favor of a new high efficiency material made from ultra-light fiber glass and Graphene embedded in a soft polymer matrix to make it flexible. The result is a strong, durable, flexible, and light-weight material that could be used in variety of ways.
